US Social Security Administration Changes Policy on Changing Gender

jabberjack:

samiitiger:

ryansallans:

No longer will the Social Security Administration require surgery to change a person’s gender within their database.

Following guidelines put forward by both the federal government for passport changes, and many States’ DMV, individuals can have their gender changed by sending a letter from their medical provider (a sample is shown within the following link) https://secure.ssa.gov/poms.nsf/lnx/0110212200

SQUEEEEEEEEE!!!

This is Huge.

It took a little over an hour for Faulks to destroy the mini-Slinky we got him.

Poor Faulks has Dy’s allergies.  He’s sneezing his head off and his eyes are red and puffy.

Tahl was right.

Two little boys with strep throat.

They now have amoxicillan and are going to be taking it easy for a few days.

And they’ll also be getting watched closely since ‘cillan’ allergies run in my family and this is the first time that they’ve had one.

Can’t put it off any longer.

We’re going to have to take the twins to the doctor today.

Hawke has had a sore throat off and on since Tuesday night.  Faulks started showing the same symptoms on Wednesday night.  I thought Hawke was getting better yesterday because he was back to playing and laughing but this morning he’s showing signs again and Faulks is still pretty rough.

So off to the doctor today.

Transgender woman gives out game for free.

Sets up a campaign to help her pay for SRS but uses another condition so that she does not have to out herself.

Lots of people donate, willingly, to the cause. Around $2000 is raised.

People begin to analyze her posts and decide that she’s A) Male. and B) A scam artist.

The campaign is reported and taken down, disputes are filed, all money is returned.

People flood her youtube page with transphobic comments.

She attempts to kill herself during a stream on twitch.tv.

I don’t regularly post on sensitive topics like this, but this needs to be seen.

I want to link this every time someone wants to fucking argue that transgender people are on the level of acceptance as LGB people. This talented woman is (possibly) dead / hospitalized because too many people see SRS as COSMETIC and not life saving.

Wake the fuck up people.

Just what I needed tonight…

I decided to check my ‘family’ Facebook today, the one still under my birth name, and while scrolling through I noticed my sister had made a post about ‘Brothers’ Week’… in which she referred to our brother as her ‘one and only brother’.

Gee.  Thanks, sis.

We let the twins pick out their new toothbrushes and toothpaste today.

Hawke chose Disney Princesses.

Faulks chose Dora the Explorer.

They got My Little Pony toothpaste.

Frankly, I don’t care so long as it gets them to brush their teeth and Dy feels the same way.

The sleeping pills don’t really help anymore.

I take them the same time as always, lay down the same time as always, then lay and stare at the ceiling for hours without sleep. Generally I finally get to sleep sometime between one and three.

I woke up at six this morning with bad hip pain and it’s still stiff and sore if I put it in certain positions. Standing or walking are both miserable.

The twins were supposed to clean their room today. I told them when they got up that they weren’t allowed to watch tv or play video games until they picked up all their toys. I warned them when they refused that if they didn’t pick them up I would come into their room with a garbage bag and throw away every toy that was on their floor still. I left the room for an hour. When I came back not a single toy had been picked up. I got the trash bag. I filled three of them.

Every step hurt and I still haven’t gone in there to sweep, much as I need to. I need to do dishes, too, but it hurts to move more than I absolutely have to.

I lay down to try and get some more rest and find a position where my hip didn’t hurt only to hear a crash from the bathroom. The twins had pulled down (and broken) a shelf. It was the one that I kept my medicine on, so I had to clean up a huge mess of pill bottles and find a new place for them. The cologne bottles were thankfully easy to find new homes for, the medicine not so much, since it has to be someplace I can reach but not the twins.

It’s not even ten in the morning and it’s already been a long day.

Edit to add: Faulks found a thing of shaving cream and covered himself in it and had to be given a shower… Still not ten yet.

Please help me with an embarrassing, expensive issue.

I know money’s tight around the world, but this is really starting to depress the shit out of me. If you got a couple, please consider helping me get MY ‘fluffy chicken’. (AKA Life-changing surgery)

Thank you.
